What is the Jarrett Payton Leadership Academy (JPLA)?
Originally launched as the Jarrett Payton Academy in June of 2012, JPLA is currently a three-day summer skills camp geared towards enrich lives and building confidence in young men (grades 3-8) through the game of football. Participants will leave the camp with a further education in specific football skills and knowledge, as well as leadership skills, wellness tips, strengthened relationships with peers and more. In the fall of 2013, JPLA will take on a different element, expanding to a leadership symposium for high-school athletes bound for college.
What areas does the Jarrett Payton Foundation serve?
We proudly serve the Chicagoland metropolitan area as well as the surrounding suburbs. We are looking to expand our reach in the coming months/year to include the Southern and Western parts of the state as well as parts of Wisconsin.
How can I get involved?
Right now, we are looking for people willing to serve as JPF ambassadors for the work conducted by the foundation. As a small organization, having people serve as advocates in their networks is critical to help us raise visibility and funds. In addition, we are looking for people to serve on our golf, marketing and programming committee. firstname.lastname@example.org
Jarrett is also involved with his family foundation. What is the mission of the family foundation, the Walter & Connie Payton Foundation (WCPF)?
WCPF’s mission is to take an active role in helping those less fortunate to find stability while providing positive opportunities needed to live their lives with dignity and pride.
